A Child's Place Ministry at St. Matthew

Mission: A Child’s Place Ministry at St. Matthew serves to assist homeless children in Charlotte, with the primary focus of providing food to the children at school and over the summer. The ministry also provides meals and other donations to their families at times throughout the year.

Description of agency served: A Child’s Place is a collaborative effort between the Charlotte community and Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools to help homeless children. It works to erase the impact of homelessness on children and their education.

Volunteer opportunities:

· Snack providers: Donate healthy snacks such as fruit cups and granola bars approximately four to five times per year on a rotating schedule.

· Drivers: Take the food from the church to A Child’s Place offices uptown on Mondays between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, approximately four to five times per year on a rotating schedule.
