The focus is on the New Covenant which achieves what the Old Covenant could not do: free us from sin. Hebrews consists of 16 lessons. Each lesson has an accompanying video lecture presented by Fr. Mitch Pacwa, SJ, who can be seen on EWTN.
Registration forms are available at the Welcome Desk in the Narthex or at the Church Office. Please register by Jan. 3. If you have any questions, please contact Terry DeMao.

Centering prayer is based on the wisdom of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount when He says, “... but when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees in secret, will reward you.” (Mt. 6:6) The method of centering prayer quiets the mind and allows us to be present to God as God is present to us. These gatherings are open to all who are engaged in centering prayer or who would like to be.

Presenter: Deacon Jim Hamrlik, 704-543-7677 x 1040

What is an annulment? Is it a Catholic divorce? If I am already divorced why do I need the Catholic Church involved? Why are annulments needed for non-Catholic marriages of non-Catholics? What is the cost? How do I start the process and how long does it take? I have been married for 15 years and have three children, can I still get an annulment? I have been divorced, can I receive Communion? What are the grounds for an annulment to be processed? These and many more questions will be answered in this very informative session facilitated by Deacon Jim Hamrlik, a trained diocesan advocate who has been involved with over 100 annulments.

St. Matthew Small Christian Communities
A Small Christian Community (SCC) is a small group of adults that gathers for six week in the fall and Lenten seasons to discuss their lives in the light of the Gospel and to share their Christian faith through prayer, friendship and service. The early Christians gathered in small groups, most frequently in a home. That experience allowed a deep sharing of faith and life. Today, SCCs facilitate that deep sharing in the presence of trusted friends. Relationships are formed where sharing, listening and genuine communications are nurtured. Although each SCC is unique in its membership, style and meeting format, every group is involved in community and faith sharing, reflection on Scripture and Church teachings, prayer and Liturgy, and mission/service in and beyond the SCC.
If you are interested in being a part of a Small Christian Community or looking for resources for your existing group, contact Michael Burck at 704-541-8362 x 4.

And the truth is: marriage is difficult. And it is naturally filled with conflict. What you need is not help to avoid this conflict; you need a way to actually calm down, grow up and get closer to your spouse through it. That’s the premise and the promise of ScreamFree Marriage. Challenge your previous notions about what your marriage should be and learn to appreciate all that it is right now and could be in the very near future. If you want an honest, intimate relationship that turns your common conflicts into a deeper, lifelong connection, then this just may be just the class you’re looking for.
