Teen Stewardship Scholarship
Each year, St. Matthew Catholic Church awards the Teen Stewardship Scholarship to a high school junior (11th grade) or senior (12th grade) who demonstrates the principles of Catholic stewardship through their dedicated involvement in a ministry or a self-directed community service project. The ministry work or service project must have been carried out within the 15 months prior to submitting the scholarship application.
The scholarship winner receives a one-time $1,000 stipend which will be paid directly to the student’s selected institution of higher education. The 2013 winner will be announced in the May 19 bulletin and notified by letter.
A Teen Stewardship Scholarship Selection Committee composed of members of the Saint Matthew Stewardship Committee and selected staff and/or ministry leaders will review the applications and select the winners based on a majority vote. The Scholarship Selection Committee Chairman will vote in the event of a tie.
Contest applications and supporting documentation must be submitted to the Church Office in person or by registered mail no later than Friday, April 19, 2013. Mail applications to St. Matthew Catholic Church, P.O. Box 49349, Charlotte, NC 28277.
