We will board a bus at 6 am in the parking lot of St. Matthew. We arrive in time to attend 9 am Mass in the monastery chapel. After Mass, there is a welcome and orientation by the Poor Clare Sisters. In the warm, inviting atmosphere of the retreat house, enjoy talks by the Poor Clare Sisters and by Julie McElmurry on St. Francis, St. Clare, and the Poor Clares. Enjoy viewing Such a Free Life, a short documentary made about these sisters. Enjoy a boxed lunch in the retreat house. In the afternoon, experience a retreat with time for reading, prayer, visiting the chapel or walking the grounds. We board the bus at 4:15 pm and depart for St. Matthew, stopping for supper, please bring extra money for dinner.
