St. Matthew > Adult Choir

The Adult Choir is a traditional four-part choir consisting of men and women with differing degrees of musical skills, united by a love of singing and praising God through music. The Choir sings a wide range of music from traditional to modern styles. Choir members build their musical and vocal skills through rehearsals and learning from each other in a relaxed, supportive, and fun atmosphere. NO auditions are required.

Rehearsals are held weekly from September to Pentecost on either Wednesday evenings in the Ballantyne Choir Room from 7:00-8:30 pm, or Thursday evenings in the Waxhaw Worship Space from 7:00-8:30 pm. Additional seasonal rehearsals and sectionals are scheduled with notice as needed. A reduced weekly practice schedule is employed during the summer months, between Pentecost and Labor Day.

There is a Choir presence at most Masses at both locations every Saturday and Sunday, as all choir members are welcome to sing at whatever Mass(es) in whatever location(s) is/are convenient for them. In addition to weekly Masses, the Choir sings on Christmas Eve, Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, and special liturgies and events throughout the year. Because of the amount of music the Choir must prepare, consistent weekly attendance is necessary and required.
