Nursery/Child Care Policy
At St. Matthew, the safety and well-being of every child is our top priority. All child care employees are carefully screened and are required to complete diocesan training programs for working with children under the age of 18 and vulnerable adults. Ongoing training in first aid, CPR, EpiPen administration, and AED use is also available to ensure our team is well prepared to care for your children.
A minimum of two trained St. Matthew child care employees will be present for each scheduled child care session or event. We follow the child-to-caregiver ratios established by the state of North Carolina, within the capacity of our nursery facility, to help provide a safe and attentive environment for every child.
Child care will be available beginning 15 minutes prior to the start of a scheduled event and will conclude 15 minutes after the event ends. Please note that child care is not provided for events at which alcoholic beverages are served.
For the health and comfort of all children, we ask that only healthy children be brought to the nursery. If a child is not feeling well, our staff may ask that they remain with a parent or legal guardian.
Thank you for helping us create a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment for all children.
