Volunteer Opportunities
Help us bring dinner to the uptown homeless and working poor of Charlotte. For all the info and to volunteer.
St. Matthew Catholic Church parishioners are hosting a hot meal on the 4th Thursday (monthly) and 5th Thursday (quarterly). You do NOT need to be a parishioner to participate.
Here is how you can help.
- Donate Food: Drop off on Thursday’s in the Parish Center (PC) Kitchen (attached to the gym) prior to 3:00 pm. Please mark all food items clearly for Serve Charlottes Homeless (SCH). If you are donating refrigerated items, please place in the refrigerator in PC Kitchen. If you need to drop off donations another time, please contact SCH team via e-mail at servecharlotteshomeless@gmail.com.
- Prep/ Heat Food: Sign up to help heat entrees, prep food and load food into vehicles on Thursday’s (4th monthly & 5th quarterly), 3:15 pm -4:30 pm in the Parish Center Kitchen (attached to the gym).
- Serve Dinner: Space is limited so sign up now to serve on the 4th monthly & 5th quarterly Thursday from 4:30 – 7:00 pm.
Meet at St. Matthew Parish Center Kitchen 4:30 pm, load cars with food and travel as a group to uptown Charlotte to server dinner to our homeless brothers and sisters. Or, you can meet the group at Hal Marshall Resource Center at 5:45 pm.
Some Volunteers will be needed to transport food from church to center.

Time Commitment
2-4 hours depending on what you have signed up to do, on the 4th or 5th Thursday of each month.
