Father James Tweed was born in Hendersonville and raised in Brevard, North Carolina, as one of five siblings. He earned a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology and biotechnology from Palm Beach Atlantic University and conducted research at the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience. Following this, he pursued two years of philosophical studies at St. Joseph College Seminary in Mount Holly before completing master’s degrees in divinity and theology at the Athenaeum of Ohio. He will serve as parochial vicar for The Catholic Community of Waxhaw.
