Bereavement Ministry



Mission: St. Matthew Bereavement Ministry of Consolation, a part of Pastoral Care, strives to live in the image of Jesus Christ who wept with those who mourned. We believe that in our faith community no one should grieve alone. To that end, we pray for and with each family who loses a loved one, and attempt to bring comfort and consolation to all the bereaved.

Volunteer opportunities:

St. Matthew Bereavement Ministers give emotional support and practical help to parish families going through the grieving process. Training is required. Please click on the following documents for more information:

Time commitment of volunteers: Connect with the family once a month for a year. One to two hours initially, then as needed.
