St. Matthew > Faith and Family > St. Matthew Children’s Mass

Beginning in third grade, children are invited to participate as lectors, greeters, gift bearers and choir members at our monthly Children’s Mass at 10:45 am in Ballantyne! For more information, or to inquire how your child may participate, please contact Michelle.

LECTORS: First, please make sure your child is comfortable and confident when reading aloud in front of a LOT of people! Monthly sign-ups are posted the Friday following each Children’s Mass. We ask that you sign up for only one Mass per program year to ensure as many children as possible have an opportunity to read. Lectors must attend a rehearsal at 5 pm on the Thursday prior to the Children’s Mass.

GIFT BEARERS/GREETERS: Children in this role will be a part of our processional and offertory, carrying up symbolic items connected to the Liturgy as well as the prayers, bread and wine for the Eucharist.

CHILDREN’S CHOIR: For the child who likes to sing, this is a beautiful way to celebrate their love of Jesus! The choir rehearses weekly (or more depending on the Liturgy) on Thursday afternoons from 4 to 5 pm. To sign your child up, please contact Diane.
