The St. Matthew Waxhaw Food Collection for Union County ministry is looking for donations! We are collecting food and toiletries for The Union County Shelter which is the only shelter operating in all of Union County. The need is great – please visit their website (www.unionshelter.org), to see all the amazing work they are doing and explore volunteer opportunities. This wonderful organization provides:
EMERGENCY SHELTER: The shelter serves single adults and families. It provides short-term shelter while working with clients with their Rehousing Program to stabilize and move into permanent housing.
FOOD: The shelter provides a meal-kitchen program that prepares and serves three meals a day, 365 days a year for anyone in Union County in need.
REHOMING: The shelter rehousing program quickly ends people’s homelessness by helping them find and move into a home in their community.
