Vision

To praise Him with song!

Mission

To foster and nurture participation within the worshiping community through proclaiming the Word in song, leading congregational singing, and presenting liturgically appropriate music which speaks to an individual’s soul, aiding them on their faith journey. Additionally, we aim to cultivate a true sense of Christian community through hospitality and service to all.

“He who sings, prays twice.” St. Augustine

Opportunities to Volunteer

In light of the restrictions due to COVID-19, our music ministry volunteer opportunities are temporarily suspended or have been altered to provide a safe experience for those involved.

Adult Choir We invite you to become a part of this faith-filled, joyful, fun and welcoming community. No audition is necessary and you don’t have to read music. Just show up at any rehearsal and we’ll take it from there. Rehearsals: Thursday nights from 7:30 to 9 pm, September through May, in the choir room at the main campus. Time commitment: 3 hours weekly (1.5 hours for rehearsal; 1.5 hours to sing at Mass including arrival time 30 minutes prior.) Additional time for holy days and special liturgies (i.e. Christmas, Holy Week, Confirmation, first Eucharist, etc.)

High School Worship Team (9th – 12th grade youth) All high school youth with a love of music are invited to join us in worshiping our Lord in song. The group will lead music at Masses and praise and worship events throughout the year. Vocalists of all experience levels are welcome. Musicians will be selected by audition. Rehearsals: Every Sunday from 4:45 to 5:15 pm in the choir pit. Scheduling is on a month-by-month basis. Time commitment: Three rehearsals and one worship event per month

Boys’ Choir (3rd – 8th grade boys) Our Boys’ Choir welcomes older boys who love to sing, and who will thrive in a fun community of like-minded friends. The Boys’ Choir co-leads the congregation in song (with the Girls’ Choir) at 9 a.m. Mass every second Sunday of the month from October through May. Rehearsals: Every second and fourth Thursday, September through May,  from 6 to 6:50 pm, in the choir room at the main campus. The Grace Notes Children’s Choir (K – 2nd grade children) This choir  is a fun, uplifting, and positive way to introduce the young child to the church choir. Your child will strengthen his or her relationship with Jesus, while having a great time singing, dancing and playing through music. The Grace Notes sing a prelude to four Sunday Masses during the choir season. Rehearsals: Every first and third Thursday, September through May, from 5:30 to 6:00 pm, in the choir room at the main campus.  Just come to the choir room and get ready to sing! Time commitment: 30 minute rehearsals twice monthly, plus 1.5 hours for Mass four times during the choir season.

Immediate ministry needs: We always need additional choir members for all Masses. At this time, our specific need is for singers at all the Waxhaw campus Masses, as well as the 5:30 pm Saturday Vigil and the 12:30 pm Sunday Masses at the main campus. We also need audio/video volunteers for all Masses and all locations. Training will be provided.
