Shaquille Steele
My name is Shaquille Steele. I’m a felon and I need financial assistance and support. I have a business that’s registered to the state. I’m also a felon and there’s a felon scare when it comes to W-2 employment. The last 3 years has been progressively harder than the year before. I work for myself and have been since I was released from prison. Last year I lost everything. I lost all my employment contacts due to not being able to match corporate competition. I lost my personal car and my business car. Due to living on McAllister Drive both my cars were damaged to the point of total loss. My insurance company only covered one car and due to living expenses I was unable to buy another vehicle. I managed to pull together 1.6k to buy a car and between the damage cause by another failed attempt in trying to steal my car and a reputable repair shop damaging my vehicle I had to junk it just to keep my lights on. As a felon I can’t get too many things in my name. Such as housing and assistance from the government. I live with my partner who mentally can’t handle the complications of being with a felon. I made one mistake and it cost me my entire life moving forward. I paid the 58k required for me to complete probation and done every step required for my rehabilitation. It’s been years and there’s still things holding me back. After paying a mountain of fines and after 8 years the DMV finally came to an end with how many fines and fees I have to pay I simply am out of money. My credit cards are maxed out. I cannot find employment. Yes I even applied for fast food, day labor, and temp job services. With the ways things are going I had a hard pill to take and realized I wasn’t seeing how me helping other people turned me to the person asking for help. Any type of donation or assistance would be greatly appreciated. I don’t qualify for any type of food stamps or government assistance. I don’t have a disability. If I were to say how much money would I need to move forward I would say $7k. $1.8 towards the state to obtain my license and car insurance. 5.2K to buy a reliable vehicle to be able to do some contracting jobs that I do have that requires me to travel.
