Mission
Believing that God the Father is almighty and that his son Jesus Christ died on the cross to set us free, and that the Holy Spirit is our great Comforter, we the members of the Prayer Line commit ourselves to develop and sustain not only our own personal prayer lives but to bear the burdens of members of our parish community and beyond, through intercessory prayer.
Description of those served
We receive prayer requests from parishioners and non-parishioners through emails to the ministry leader.
Volunteer opportunities
We always need people willing to spend some time in prayer for the needs of others. Leader sends out email prayer requests as they are received. Intercessors either pray for these people immediately or involve them in their prayer time each day. Everyone’s personal prayer style is different. All requests are confidential.
Time commitment of volunteers
A few minutes each day to check email for prayer requests. Requests added to daily prayers per individual intercessor.

A Prayer for The Needs of Our St. Matthew Community
Father of goodness and love, hear our prayers for
the sick members of our St. Matthew parish family
and for all who are in need.
Amid mental and physical suffering
may they find consolation in your healing presence.
Show your mercy as you close wounds, cure illness,
make broken bodies whole and free downcast spirits.
May these special people find lasting health and deliverance
and so join us in thanking you for all your gifts. We ask this
through the Lord Jesus who healed those who believed.
Amen.
