Franciscan Friars from Padua, Italy, invite you to join them in welcoming St. Anthony of Padua to the Catholic Diocese of Charlotte. St. Anthony will be visiting the area in the form of two precious First-Class relics from the Pontifical Basilica in Padua, Italy. The relics will be accompanied by Fr. Mario Conte and Fr. Fabio Turrisendo, Franciscan Friars from Padua, where the saint is buried.
St. Anthony intercedes for those seeking employment, housing, faith, love, hope, family harmony, good health, peace of mind, and mercy. Writing a prayer petition is a long-standing tradition when venerating the relic of a saint. The faithful are invited to write their personal intentions, which Fr. Conte and Fr. Turrisendo will gather and take to the Basilica in Padua, where they will be placed at the tomb of St. Anthony. The tour will conclude there as the Friars join in prayer, asking St. Anthony’s intercession for all the intentions received. Prayer cards will be available during the visit.
Fr. Conte and Fr. Turrisendo will collect the petitions and bring them back to the Basilica in Padua to be placed at the tomb of St. Anthony. The tour will conclude there, where the Friars will gather to pray for the saint’s intercession upon all the intentions and petitions received.
